Joseph Gierek began his career in the art business in 1982 in Scottsdale, Arizona. In 1987, he moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico where in 1990 he served as President of the Santa Fe Gallery Association.

In 1998, he relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he opened his eponymous gallery on Cherry Street, eventually moving to its current location on historic Route 66 in 2013.

The gallery has been named to the “A-List” by the readers of Tulsa People from 2014 through 2024 and “Best of the Best” by the readers of Oklahoma Magazine from 2005 through 2025.

In addition, the gallery was named one of the 25 Best Galleries in America and the Best in Oklahoma by the American Art Awards for 2018.
