Robert C. Jackson

About the Artist

“I believe that fundamentally, the core of our being is fed by both the comedic and the dramatic.

However, the tendency of most art leans towards drama, leaving us slightly malnourished. Therefore, I have a pretty simple hope: to feed the appetite with a touch of humor and provide some pleasure to life. I try to engage the mind and heart of the viewer with amusing narratives.

I am acting as a playwright, starting at Act 1/Scene 1, allowing the audience to imagine and determine the rest of the interactions, scenarios and even the ending. Fruit, balloons, cakes, toys, and cookies are my actors, always on the verge of some sort of role play. Vivid colors, composition, props and text provide the staging and scenarios, all participating in the enhancement of the story. Interpretation is left to each individual admirer.” - Robert C. Jackson

Jackson’s work can be found in museum, private, and corporate collections worldwide. Including the Delaware Art Museum; Brandywine River Museum of Art; Evansville Museum of Art; South Dakota Art Museum; New Britain Museum of American Arts and The Mattatuck Museum, among others.
